A Little Gelato

What’s even better than a new ice cream shop? A new gelato, sorbetto and pastry shop! Gelato is an Italian-style ice cream that does not contain buttermilk and eggs – it’s more compact, but still airy and delicious—it’s impossible to look into a gelato display case and not start salivating. A Little Gelato is open Friday-Sunday and rotates their flavors consistently, so it’s good to check social media for updates. They also stock Italian cookies, macarons, pies, tarts and fresh baked breads.

Absolutely Excellent! Won’t say much because the food speaks for itself (you can try free samples of most things in the shop, so you can decide for yourself). Here is what we tried: • 100 year old family cheesecake recipe: 5/5 • pistachio gelato: 5/5 • tiramisu with housemade ladyfingers: 5/5 Also, met the owner/chef, and he was very friendly and warm. Portions are generous. Very good experience, will go again.

The gelato was amazing! The owner definitely loved what he does. Great bakery items too! The cheesecake was great as well. Everything is made fresh there, never frozen. We will be back.

We have been to A Little Gelato twice, and both times have been delicious! The first time, my spouse got a croissant gelato sandwich which he talked about for several days after we went. This recent time, I was persuaded to order Orange Mint sorbetto, which tastes like fresh squeezed Orange juice with a fresh mint leaf. It was so delicious, and I will look forward to ordering this flavor again in the future. We can’t wait to return as it warms up over the coming weeks and months! The owner is kind and willing to answer all questions. His is conscientious of cross-contamination with gluten, so this is a Celiac friendly dessert stop.

Their pistachio gelato was so incredible- color was a gorgeous muted green, texture was unbelievably smooth, and the pistachio flavor was so pure. We were poached for samples walking out of La Racette (also an amazing dessert business next door) to try the tiramisu and cheesecake- both were decent but the gelato was the star to me. Ken, the owner, was so friendly and lovely in explaining the process of gelato making! It is never frozen- meaning ice crystals do not have a chance to form. They also sell savory pastries; honestly with the quality of desserts, not sure if they even need additional goods. But they looked gorgeous also! I can’t wait to return when it’s warm.

Such a nice gelato shop. The guy who owns it saw me walking and invited me inside to try some samples. Everything I tried was very good, especially the cheesecake and the strawberry gelato. The person who owns it was very passionate about what he makes and the atmosphere of the shop was very welcoming.

Delicious! Feels like you are visiting a hidden gem. I imagine it won’t feel that way for long! I wouldn’t be surprised to start seeing lines outside the door. The pistachio gelato is the best I have ever had. Cant wait to return. Don’t think twice, treat yourself to some pastries and gelato!

I’m so happy this shop opened up! I’ve really missed homemade gelato and a good authentic Italian bakery moving away from New York. We ordered 2 pies and a tray of cookies for Thanksgiving and everything was amazing! Everyone really needs to stop by and try this place out! The owner, Ken, is also super friendly and you can tell his passion for what he does just by talking to him for a few minutes.

The food at the place is truely extraordinary. We have tried both the ice-creams and the different cakes and they all taste amazing. The staff is extremely friendly and responsive as week. Highly recommend!

Fantastic people running an awesome little gelato place. Very kind, honest and accommodating. Easy to miss given the location but definitely stop in for a sample even if it's cold out. It will be worth your while. The frozen treats are very rich, smooth and will likely be some of the best you have ever tried. Did not have a chance to try the pastries but will do so at the next opportunity.

Best Gelato in town! I just had a pleasure to meet Ken the owner of “A Little Gelato” in Durham: right behind Cook Out in Hwy 55. The ice cream was so delicious, creamy and the place was also so clean. I can tell Ken use really high quality ingredients and makes new flavors every week. He gave me some samples and they were all super delicious. I ended ordering pistacho and Nutella. The combination of these 2 flavors just delicious. He also has in the menu afogado, tiramisu, cheese cakes, cannolis, chocolate tarts and Italian cookies. Just amazing! I was so happy to have a little piece of Italy close to home.

I just visited A Little Gelato for the first time and it's truly some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The owner was also incredibly nice and let us try their offerings, which change every week. There are also cannolis, tiramisu, chocolate tarts, the most amazing cookies ever, and cheesecake, among other things. This place is a gift and I hope everyone gives them a chance. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
