I had been waiting to try this place for some time because they weren't open on the days when I was in town. In addition, they don't open until 4pm, but they were well worth the wait! We got the strawberry crunch cheesecake and the fresh strawberry. They are absolutely delicious! They are very rich, so I can only eat a few bites at a time. As small as they are, one little cheesecake can probably feed 3 or 4 people. I'll have to freeze some of it for a later time. You've gotta try the strawberry crunch--- perfect flavor and not too sweet.

This review is long overdue... I discovered this place back in January of 2024 while doing a Door Dash with my brother. Ended up staying awhile and talking to the owner. When talking to AJ, you realize there's more to her and her business than wanting to make money. You see that with her actions towards her customers, the Community, and her Employees.
I went 28 years of my life not liking cheesecake.. but I decided to give AJs a try and they were so delicious that I now work there 😂😂😂 now, when you purchase a cheesecake the first thing you'll notice is that they're frozen. That is because they don't use preservatives. so, I usually patiently wait, with fork in hand of course, the 5 minutes it takes for it to thaw out and then perform magic by making it disappear 😂
In the picture is the first thing I ever bought from there. It's no longer on the menu, but it's a Reese's Funnel Cake. 😍😍😍

I’m not a cheesecake fan but this place? OMG!! I ordered the strawberry crunch cheesecake. It was HEAVENLY! The texture, flavor, coating, and presentation were all 10 out of 10! I stopped at a couple places to pick up for lunch/ dinner next day. When I got out of the car I dropped everything! Everything was opened or smashed on the ground- except my cheesecake! Not only was it in a package that snapped shut, but they thought enough to tape it shut too! Happy customer right here!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I've had a very good cheesecake in my life, but AJ's cheesecake tops the list of them all. These cheesecakes are absolutely the most delicious of them all. The presentation is beautiful as well. I would have provided photos; but, they didn't last once we got them home. I had a scrumptious strawberry cheesecake and peach cobbler cheesecake.
AJ's has great hours from 4 pm to midnight and is near NCCU. It LGBTQ friendly and owned. I highly recommend that anyone and everyone go by and have one or more of the variety of cheesecakes available.
It was my first time and will go back.

My my my, let me just start with.....Ali the owner is so down to earth and her cheesecakes did NOT disappoint. When we arrived there was a line so we were afraid that we wouldn't get our order in before they sold out. Well if you were looking for the strawberry or blueberry crunch cheesecake, you need to get there at 4pm when they open. Ali told us that this afternoon she started with 600 strawberry crunch cheesecakes and they sold out. We decided to get the brownie bite and red velvet cheesecakes, and like I said....my my my. Run, don't walk to try out these fabulous cheesecakes. We will be back, sooner than later. Stay blessed and it was great meeting you. I know my husband will be back for that company order.

Please visit and do business with AJ’s Cheesecakes in Durham, NC. The owner was incredibly kind and went above and beyond for me in a world where quality customer service is hard to find these days. She exceeded all expectations.
I ordered the Red Velvet Cheesecake and Peach Cobbler Egg Rolls through DoorDash and waited about an hour, only for the delivery driver to message me that he had picked up the order but then returned it to the store because the distance was too far for him. I called the store and spoke to the owner, and she drove my items to my home herself.
Omg! I will most certainly be doing much more business with her and her establishment in the future. If I could give her 20 stars, I would. I will be telling all my friends and family to go see her.
And of course, I cannot forget to rate the items. They were both immaculate. I'm a sweets girl, and these did not miss or disappoint. GO SEE HER! And then write her a great review and GO SEE HER AGAIN!
