They are very friendly people. We find everything we need, its the place when you need affordable groceries and they have introduced fresh fruits and vegetables. I highly recommend this store to you.

I appreciate having a store in Durham where Zabiha chicken and other meats can be purchased. I travel here by bus since I do not drive. The store is immaculate and I am always delighted with my groceries.

The absolute best place to get groceries and meats. I exclusively buy my chicken, beef, and lamb from Al-Taiba, and love the attentiveness of their butchers. I’ve asked for specific fat ratios for my ground beef, and asked for chicken leg quarters to be cut into pieces for stews. They always get it right!
Not many places sell goat but these folks do.
Definitely get the Levantine olive oil, various herbal teas, Turkish honey, labneh and akawi cheese, dates, and ajvar from the Balkans. There’s much more but those are my personal highlights.

I go here quiet often, especially for their fresh chicken and lamb meats. They have a good collection of groceries, snacks, frozen food, grains, tea and spices. They also have fresh onion, tomatoes and breads.
The owners are very sweet, warm and welcoming.
They are also open on Christmas Day.

Anyone been around to remember the days you had to cart yourself out to Raleigh to buy Arab / Middle Eastern groceries? Long gone are those days thanks to this place!
Excellent selection of Arab / Middle Eastern / Mediterranean / Asian goods. They have a great variety of both the standard staples, such as chick peas, bread, seasonings, yogurts, cheeses, frozen goods, and other raw or prepared ingredients, but also have more nuanced items you might not have seen in a long time had you grown up elsewhere and moved to the US. I don’t have to go and order things online anymore. Additionally they have a butcher that has fresh meats that are also halal if you’re Muslim. I haven’t ever had their meats, and am not Muslim, but I know where to go if I need lamb or goat on special occasions. They don’t really have produce beyond some shelf stable items, but that excluded, it’s pretty much an oasis.
Finally, the store is kept clean, well stocked, and organized. I’ve never been in there with items I need missing. They recently did a facelift on the front of the store and it looks awesome, very modern and inviting. The owners and their sons are super friendly, extremely kind, even offering to special order things I ask about, and are always in a helpful / cheerful mood! Would HIGHLY recommend stopping in to anyone looking for things they need, or just wanting to see what a Middle Eastern store looks like!

Al-Taiba is a wonderful business to have in the neighborhood even as someone who doesn't stick to a halal diet. A lot of the food that they sell is new to me but they are always really helpful in showing me around. Their giant bread is really good and so is the Valbreso sheep milk feta. Today I forgot my wallet at home and the cashier MJ insisted that I take my groceries home and come back to pay later. Then when I came back to pay he gave me a gift! Very kind people and a very quality business.

Excellent and affordable resource for the community. Reasonable priced Halal meat. Lebanese bread. friendly and helpful staff. Located by the Pauli Murray historical landmark sign and one of the murals the one that’s on Carol Street. Sufficient parking I would say maybe 20 parking spots available there and if need be, there’s other parking lots available usually but I’ve never needed to use them.prayer rugs and other gifts and non-food items are also available.
Was raised by a Jewish father and Christian mother am a letter day Pharisee, and a latter-day saint, both aspirational more than anything, but I also have great respect for and love for Islam, and have always felt supported and welcome here at this Halal market.
