El Futuro Mural

Covering the exterior wall of El Futuro, a culturally responsive mental health clinic largely serving local Hispanic and immigrant communities, a new mural designed by Mexican-American artist Cornelio Campus now serves as a feature attraction in the middle of the Lakewood Shopping Center. The 2,760 sq. ft. mural depicts common struggles of the community while highlighting a shared hope for the future. Lakewood is one of Durham’s most diverse neighborhoods with one of the largest Latinx populations in the city.
