This iconic Durham pool hall is a neighborhood gathering spot with a loyal following that gained notoriety when it was featured in the movie Bull Durham. Now operating for more than thirty years, The Green Room remains an unassuming spot for pool sharks and casual players to gather with a beer. The ten antique pool tables offer plenty of space for those who want to play a round, and the no-frills atmosphere makes it comfortable enough to stay a while.

I haven’t played pool in years but wanted to stop by for a beer and the “Bull Durham” ambience. The environment was everything I hoped for, good vibes, welcoming and lots of character. I planned on staying only a few minutes but found myself not wanting to leave. They don’t make places like this anymore.

An awesome find. The vibe is relaxed and friendly, and the pool tables are well cared for.
My bartenders were happy to talk about Durham, the history of the bar, and they provided good beer recommendations.
Just a great place to stop in for a cold beer, good vibes, and shoot some pool on quality tables in a place that cares about beer, vibes, and pool. -
Great community, good pool tables. I love that Mike is keeping antique pool tables alive and playing well. The older ones have bigger pockets. Table 8 has the tightest pockets unless you're assigned 10 for league. Great beer selection. It's basically no tables available outside league on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 to eh, 9 or 9:30 - FYI, but still come in early and meet great people.

The best place to shoot some pool in Durham. Started going 15 years ago and it’s still the same great place it was. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality. Have always felt very welcome there and even when we’ve had to go wait for a table, it’s been speedy.

Very disrespectful employees/bar tender what ever you wanna call them came in there to shoot some pool and drink couple beers with some friends like everyone does and the guy tells me I half to wait even tho there was like 3 pool tables open but no big deal right I’m a patient guy. But then this women said she was done shooting and we can take her table and the guy behind bar says oh your just so very polite aren’t you but I’m the one who runs this show not you in a very unpleasant sarcastic manner this was all in a matter of 2 minutes of me being in there and then I ask for a miller lite he said I don’t have that so I ask for a corona extra he said I don’t have that so I told him are your just bullshiting me or being serious he said what you think we are a gas station. Like they was just unprofessional like those are the top 5 most popular beers but he’s gonna tell me do we look like a gas station. I will never go back there again it wasn’t even all that nice anyways looked depressed lights are so deem surprise you can shoot pool. Don’t waste your time your better going up street west end they have good tables and are very respectful
