Lake Michie (pronounced Mickey) is a reservoir in northern Durham County with city-operated facilities for fishing and boat rentals, including kayaks, canoes and motorboats. While swimming is not allowed, the lake is a beautiful spot for a relaxing paddle.

Like all the other Durham Park facilities, this one is run by smiling friendly people who are more than happy to help you in any way they can. This particular facility has gone all out on inclusion for the handicapped. There is even a handicapable kayak launch on site and plenty of handicapped accessible parking.
