Out of town visitors from Hampton Roads and glad we googled Lakewood!
Atmosphere was electric and super inviting. Staff friendly and manager/owner was the best. We sat down to order via the QR code which was very easy to use. Ordered a few different meals for our party of 5. Food came out very quickly and that was a plus as we were starving!
I ordered the bacon jam burger and it was packed with flavor! The fries were delicious and everything was hot. A few others from our party ordered the other smash burger and really enjoyed it. We also had the Fried chicken sandwich and it was huge and packed with flavor. The spicy one was a lil hot for my friend but she enjoyed it overall.
The manger/owner came over to welcome us and check on us—very polite and grateful for us stopping by.
While leaving out the door we decided to order a few fresh ice cream sandwiches and they are greaaattttt! Try one, you won’t be disappointed.
Sidenote: Bathroom was very clean
Whenever we are in town, we will visit again and eat at Lakewood Social.

A very interesting restaurant. Plenty of seating, indoor, indoor patio, outdoor. There's an area where kids can play that has games, chalk, balls, and blocks - just some of the things I saw to entertain kids. You serve yourself water and condiments. I actually appreciate the water being readily available for self service because I drink a lot of water. You order from your table and they bring the food and drinks. We didn't see any server after that until someone came and collected the finished plates. The chicken sandwich was good. It was chicken thigh and I prefer that instead of breast. It just lacked flavor. The sauce on it was delicious. The fries were really good too. The concept of this place is great. Kids running around while parents get to just relax and enjoy each other's company.

Like da funk chill spot of my lunch hour. It feels like a social club with a robust dining area with high tops, booths, long tables for groups, and covered patio. As the ceilings are high you can feel the openness of the space.
Service can be rendered at the bar, or at table by table code via your mobile device. Great group of employees. Easy to speak with and carry the vibe intended for this business.
While I only had an appetizer of French onion dip with chips. It was incredibly well made. All of the food I viewed looked spectacular in presentation with many happy faces.
The world is your oyster with many drafts, full cocktail menu, and bottled wine. I enjoy a balanced beer for lunch which they have many.
Great for groups and events, families, or professionals on the go. This is better than a coffee shop for me. As it is meant to be social atmosphere.

Whenever I’m back in Durham I will definitely be stopping back by here. The curry fries are the best fries I’ve ever had. Mimosa and chicken sandwich were amazing as well.

Last evening was our second visit here meeting my brother for food and drinks. We all enjoyed it both times. Good drinks and good decent food. The service was really good both times as well. Bartenders and servers were very nice and attentive. We also brought our dog here both times. We sat in the outside covered area and they brought her water. We would go back.

The food was soooo good! Nice variety of drinks. Very family friendly so if you don't have kids, bring your tolerance for rambunctious toddlers and their parents.

I met with a friend for lunch at Lakewood Social a few days ago in September. We were impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the variety of unique menu selections, and the food was delicious. I had the grilled cheese with roasted broccoli and caramelized onions. It was scrumptious and such a nice change of pace. It seems like restaurants all have the same menus, leading to boring meals. Lakewood Social offers some new twists to make eating enjoyable. Our food arrived quickly, hot and fresh. This is a family-friendly restaurant with reasonable prices. We look forward to returning.

This place is definitely not marketing well because the food is FIRE and I've been sharing my experience with close friends who frequent Lakewood shopping center and they didn't know about it. The ambiance is great as well...nice bar and drink selections. No one was there when I went but I can see this being the place to go especially when the weather is nice. It feels like the American version of Mexcalito but without the crowd. Definitely going back!

Unexpectedly discovered this place and was not disappointed! I was immediately pleased to see a robust beer and cocktail menu without being overwhelmed by too many options. The venue is extremely large to accommodate many people and a astonishing outdoor space to enjoy good weather or relax under the stars with a good beer.
Food quality: I began to worry when I viewed the prices for foodbut was deeply amazed when my order arrived. Submission to table was only a few minutes and the quantity immediately justified the cost. I ordered the oyster mushrooms and spicy chicken sandwich. Both tasted amazing. The mushrooms had the perfect amount of breading and the sandwich was tender and a perfect bite (i.e., not messy).
I highly recommend this place if looking for an afternoon charge or a night out!

I was shocked with good the food was here. We went looking for beer first and food second so I wasn’t expecting too much. However, everything we ordered was delicious. The curry fries are to die for. The chicken sandwich and smash burger were also great. There is easy parking in their lot and a ton of seating both indoor and outdoor. We just picked a table and ordered using the QR code.

My husband and I were looking for a dinner spot with outdoor space for our 2 kids to play and we decided to try Lakewood Social for the first time. The food was really great (especially the kids chicken tenders and fries) and the outdoor space was perfect. It’s fully fenced in and has plenty of seating. We came on a Monday night and it wasn’t too crowded so our kids had plenty of space to run around. They also have some toys/games available to borrow while you are there which is a nice touch.
