This was the second stop on our father/son traditional bbq road trip this week. I did my research before coming and knew I would be walking into a new school vibe bbq place. My son and I were not disappointed! Proteins Smoked wings: flavorful and juicy. No sauce really needed because they tasted great on their own. Brisket: the bark was delicious with a nice balance of salt/pepper. The piece I had was nice and juicy. Sticky ribs: soooooooooo good. Didn’t fall apart but came off the bone easy while eating. That sauce!?!?! Holy hell it was delicious! Sweet with a little tang. I could see that pairing well with alot of different things. Smash burger: I’m not really a smash burger guy but gave it a try and it was delicious. Even better dipping it in the Cheerwine bbq sauce. Sides Deviled egg potato salad: growing up with southern grandmothers, this hit home beautifully! A nice balance of flavors. Brisket beans: not the typical style of beans I’m used to but loved every bite. Lots of flavor. Tangy slaw: stole the show for me. A nice vinegar vibe that wasn’t over the top and the cilantro just set it off! Seriously that slaw can be paired with so many different things or on its own. I appreciate the way the cilantro added to each dish it was used on but didn’t overpower any of them. You can definitely go too heavy with it but you guys had a perfect mix. Sauces cheerwine sauce: was a little tangy and sweet but so so good. Vinegar: I’m a vinegar fan and this has some bit. Be careful not to inhale deep if you smell it haha. All in all great experience top to bottom! Prices matched the quality and effort that goes into making great bbq! The best way to approach any new bbq spot is to leave your preferences at home and expand your taste buds and try something different. I’m glad we did. Wish we could’ve tried more but there’s always next time. Thanks for being apart of this father/son tradition!

Nice location. Overpriced for the amount of food you get. The seasoning on the chicken kind of covers up the fact that it tastes like baked chicken and not bbq chicken. As for the brisket, the edges are season well but it too lacked bbq flavor. It almost taste like it came out the oven.

Lawrence is in the running for best brisket in the State! Its very juicy and you can cut it with a plastic spoon. They give you pickled onions, jalapenos, and sweet pickles as garnish and you can add on any of their great sides. I will be coming back regularly!

Had the brisket sandwich with cheerwine BBQ sauce and chilled spaghetti with chimichurri sauce🔥🔥🔥 Pretty chill location, perfect for a small group that have different tastes. A lot of bees out on this particular day, other than that definitely worth the visit

Lawrence BBQ at Boxyard RTP has such a cool vibe! The shipping container look gives it a modern, industrial feel that’s perfect for a casual hangout. I was really excited to try the food, but unfortunately, what I ordered was a bit underwhelming. The turkey was dry and completely flavorless. I was super pumped for the devil egg potato salad, but that ended up being a big disappointment too—zero flavor. On the bright side, the sauces were solid! They added some much-needed kick to the food. I tried a piece of brisket from a family member’s plate, and that was actually pretty decent, so maybe I just ordered wrong. The menu itself looks amazing, so I may give them another shot. But overall, for the price, I was expecting way more flavor. I mean, look at this pic—it looks incredible, right? Too bad it didn’t taste as good as it looks! SMH. Hopefully, next time will be better.

STAY AWAY FROM RIBS not worth it at all. Other food is great though (but expensive). We go here often and usually get the pulled pork. Love the outside atmosphere. But Today I ordered the ribs and was super disappointed. $15 for 3 tiny ribs, some pickles, and a slice of untoasted white bread. After finishing I was still hungry. Don’t waste your money… so sad. Photo below of the micro-ribs.

Amazing!!! I will admit I was a little worried about it having a hipster vibe but I am not disappointed at all!! Brisket is melt in your mouth and so delicious. The brussel sprouts are flavorful and perfectly done! My husband got the chili crisp cheeseburger (I think) and he was also very very happy with it!! Definitely recommend :)

Got the half a pound of brisket and pork combo for ~$30. Delish!! No indoor sitting. The outdoor yard is the sitting area. There's live music too! Had take out once for a work event and came back for their brisket!

We were excited to try Lawrence Barbecue because of the hype online. They were out of many items by the time we arrived, and only had brisket sandwiches and select sides. The best thing of the meal was the brussel sprouts— they were flavorful and crispy. The brisket was tough and dry, probably due to the lean cut, and the add-on slaw didn’t help. The deviled egg potato salad lacked salt and seasonings (bland throughout the serving, not much mustard, pepper, or deviled egg flavor as anticipated). The water from the cooler was pretty awful— tasted of the plastic from the cooler, kind of how you would imagine stagnant ice water sitting in a cooler would taste, so BYO water 😂 or buy their beverages. *updated for clarity
