Great live comedy theater here in Durham with a fun and welcoming atmosphere. It's tucked away in Golden Belt right by the brewery. I had a great time at the last sketch show I saw here.
They have non-alcoholic drinks as well as some beer and ciders to enjoy during the shows.

Love Mettlesome! There's live comedy improv shows every weekend as well as phenomenal sketch shows (just check the calendar on their website and you'll find something for you). I love that we have such a great local theater here in Durham.
The community vibe is amazing and I felt so welcome from the first time I took a class here.
It's located right next to a brewery, an ice cream shop, and a few restaurants so it's a perfect spot for a whole night out. Plus parking is a breeze!

What a great comedy theater! One of our favorite weekend activities is seeing an improv or sketch show at Mettlesome. The performers are all so funny and welcoming, and the bar is always stocked with a great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. I'm a fan of the ciders and kombucha!
They offer classes in improv and sketch comedy which starts every few months and are a great way to make friends from around the triangle community. Taking improv 101 here two years ago was one of my best decisions in recent years.
Durham is so lucky to have a space like Mettlesome to celebrate local artists!

When I moved to Durham three years ago, I never imagined how important the Mettlesome community would become. I wanted to meet new people in Durham so I took the Improv 101 class with Ashley. She taught me the fundamentals of improv and made it accessible to everyone, regardless of your performance background. I moved on through the various levels of Improv classes and fell in love with the fun, vibrant community and improv as an art form.
I have now since participated in a handful of the sketch shows that are produced a few times a year and perform on the short form improv team, House Party, which is perfect for a date night or fun night in Durham.
Mettlesome is the cornerstone of live comedy in Durham. They have shows every weekend and frequent classes in improv and sketch writing if you are interested in learning. The actors are hilarious and there are many times I laughed so hard I cried. Thanks to the many passionate people who are building a beautiful community, performance space, and are making Durham an awesome place to live ❤️❤️

Mettlesome is an incredibly creative place. They have a diverse range of teams that entertain and inspire. They also offer improv and sketch classes where the instructors provide dedicated support to their students. If you’re in or near Durham, NC, you absolutely must check them out!

Group Improv Workshop -- We brought the Magnificent Mettlesome in for a group workshop for students from Jordan and the US. I have to say there was so much laughter and even some tears (from breaking down some barriers and having some quite sentimental moments). The students were amazed with themselves and also each other. This group is the most uplifting and affirming group EVER. They are professional, respectful, inclusive and can get ANYONE to join in. Please include them in your next training/workshop/employee bonding activity...whatever it is, be sure not to miss it! Because I miss them already!
