When Missy Lane's opened in early 2024, it was immediately embraced as a popular new social hub for music lovers in downtown Durham. The new space for near-nightly live performances of jazz and other musical genres hosts local musicians as well as touring acts. Enjoy a show or open mic night from the comfort of a seat and table, dinner-theater style, and order cocktails from the bar or from your cocktail server.

Pros - As a lover of music I enjoyed the show. The energy, vibe, and artistry are what I loved the most. There is room for improvement in some areas but if you attend for the music you will not be disappointed. Cons - I do feel it is a small space and the view is obstructed in some areas as mentioned in other reviews. There are plenty of drink options but not typical food options (bbq - sliders and Mac and cheese) which I felt was not fitting for the establishment. Overall I will definitely attend anytime they have an artist that appeals to me as there are very few establishments like this one.

Amazing independent venue and artists. Good drink selection (but note they do not take cash). Easy parking and location. Grand piano in the cafe area is nice during jazz piano Sundays. Everyone should check out this place and support. Great place to meet interesting people too. My friends and I bought tickets for Nate Smith and Carrtoons and we were one ticket short, and the venue even released some day of so our 4th friend could attend. 5 stars!

My first experience at Missy Lane’s was last weekend for a Jarrod Lawson show. The performer was amazing, but I think the venue could provide a better experience. We arrived early since there is open seating and seating had not begun yet. We sat in the bar area and were told by staff that we would be notified when seating began. That DID NOT happen. Seating did not begin as advertised 1hr before the show and we were only aware that seating had started when a large group entered and went straight to check-in. Therefore, we had to stand in line behind the group when we had arrived at least 30 minutes prior to their arrival. When I mentioned this to the person checking is in, there was no response. The drinks we had were good, but the food did not meet expectations. We ordered the turkey sliders. There were 2 sliders (the quantity was not stated on the menu) with nothing else on a cookout-style heavy duty paper plate. Not what I would expect in this environment- especially when it was $15. As is stated in other reviews I read, the venue is small and there are view obstructions as well. I would return, but it would have to be an artist that I would not want to miss seeing. I think it has potential and is needed in the community, but I do hope they improve the quality of the experience.

It's truly a local fav! We were lucky enough to get the last-minute ticket to see Pat Mclaughlin's band performed on a Friday night in June. It was just magical, just like one of the died-heart fans had told us! It's an unforgettable memory in Nashville!
