Super mid food. Not a place to eat in, take out only but there are better options in the area. Nothing was terrible, nor was anything good. Naan is packaged/heated and they do not have a tandoor, so avoid the “tandoori chicken” its just reheated chicken.

By far, this is one of the most amazing Indian restaurants that I’ve ever experienced the atmosphere the food. The customer service is top-tier. I recommend if you’re ever in the Durham area or near Duke for whatever reason that you come to this shopping center and find this restaurant, you will not be disappointed, the food is authentic. I was impressed by the tea the chai tea. It was delicious. I ordered one of the rice dishes with goat portions were amazing. The price was fair. You gotta try it out.

Balkrishan Is the chef and the food is absolutely amazing! This was the first time I tried Indian food and I was so incredibly pleased! The butter chicken was so soft and flavorful! You can tell they care about the food and flavors! The service was impeccable as they check on you often. 10/10 recommend

In Durham for the summer and this was the first restaurant I tried. Been here at least a dozen times since the first time. Their food never disappoints! Their lamb vindaloo is my go to but I have also tried their briyani, tikka masala, chicken momos, chole,samosas and naan. Their portion sizes are huge and is enough for a second or even a third meal sometimes. They also give free rice with most of the dishes. Don’t get me started on the mango lassi! I sometimes stop by just for a lassi on my way home. Although I am not a vegetarian, they have a great selection of vegetarian dishes that are just as great. I really enjoy the chole masala as a great vegetarian option. And the people and service is great!! Especially Chef Balkrishan! He recognized me after the 2nd or 3rd time and is so friendly. He encouraged me try so many different items on their menu and I can say he definitely knows what he’s doing because everything was delicious. Wish I lived here for longer to keep eating here.

Phenomenal food and impeccable service.
First time visit: The workers really wanted to make sure we chose food my boyfriend and I would be happy with, offering suggestions and explaining what vegetarian options are available. We both fell in love with the samosa chaat. Everything on our plates quickly started disappearing by the time I thought to take pictures. The staff had also given us these complementary pudding cups (sorry I forget the name!) before we left.
We came for the food and will be coming back on our next trip to Durham because their service went above and beyond!!! If you are looking for Indian food in Durham, this place is perfect for ya!

The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Service also very good with musical environments.Highly recommend the GSR Butter Chicken and Goat Curry.

The reviews are true, the customer service is excellent. They are attentive and very kind. I appreciate that they appreciate me!!!
Now on to the great part, the food!!!!! Hey if you love authentic Indian spices, you'll love here. The smells the taste is out of this world. I'm glad I chose to come here. Not the least disappointed. The prices are worth it. You can catch a deal on their lunch menu.

Very friendly and helpful staff who care about our dining experience! The food was amazing and enough to take home for a second helping. Everything is made fresh and the spice levels were perfect for us. We will definitely be returning!

Very clean space! Great food - very flavorful! I like spice, so I would say this was mild/medium spicy on the spice level for me personally. Everything was cooked well and the naan is made fresh. The service was quick and the portions are a great deal for what you pay. I got the paneer and it was everything I wanted for lunch. I’ll be making this place my go to for Indian for lunch.

Saffron Indian Cafe is inviting and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests to relax and savor their dining experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and helpful. Most importantly, the food is delicious and the spice has the right amount of kick if that is what you seek in your meal. I absolutely LOVED the Chicken Chettinad Sauce, and the Chicken Korma, I recommend both. Do keep in mind that the venue is a bit smaller. All though there is seating, it's more of a pick up and go environment.

I enjoyed my trip to Saffron. My friends and I have visited most of the Indian restaurants around town and this was really good.
I tried the Chicken 65 and my friend had the Chicken Masala. Both had a good amount of spice and flavor.
The restaurant was fairly busy, but we didn’t have to wait very long for our food. 😃
I’m looking forward to visiting them again.

Food was so good and the store manager was super nice and friendly! We tried paneer tikka masala(medium), butter chicken(mild) with mango lassi and garlic naan. All are 10 out of 10! Glad to find a good authentic Indian food in a walkable distance from campus! Must try :)
