Have been here probably ten times time and it’s ALWAYS incredible, dine in or as takeaway. The staff is always super kind and attentive. It’s a smaller space but never feels crowded or super loud like some spaces and their patio is great. The prices undoubtedly match the quality of the food and the food is consistently great and they have a nice beer selection to boot. They host fun events on the weekends and seem to be doing more and more to support community involvement. Really can’t say enough good things about this place.

Great food and service. I thought the live music would be too loud to have conversation but it was perfect. Best fried green tomatoes I’ve had. Companion had the smoked brisket plate which was also excellent

The food here is usually pretty good. Our entrées were pretty good however, the catfish could’ve been a little less moist on the inside. Also, please consider making the fried green tomatoes, a side versus entrée. The beans and rice are always good as well as the gumbo. I also had the speciality tea which that day was a agave basil mix. It was surprisingly delicious.

I came here with my husband and we were really impressed by the food and the atmosphere! It's been a while since my visit, but I was honestly shocked that I hadn't had the chance to review it. We got the smoked brisket plate, the jambalaya, and the gumbo. I think the brisket plate was out favorite item, but the jambalaya was a close second!! We are excited to come back soon.

Had lunch here on Sunday around noon and in no way did this place disappoint. The atmosphere was amazing, our server was super helpful and polite, and the food? Absolutely out of this world. I don’t even like cauliflower but my server recommended the hot honey cauliflower for an appetizer and it was great. The smoked brisket empanadas were one of the best things I’ve eaten all year and the banana foster was a great way to finish off the meal. This place deserves to have plenty of business every time they open their doors. 100/10 and I will be back to try other things on the menu

I had lunch here and it was so good I returned for dinner. The customer service is great! Food is delicious! We ordered the jambalaya and it was perfect! The gumbo has a kick and is very good as well. When I returned to dinner I got the fried chicken plate with potatoes and a side of gumbo and jambalaya again. The chicken is very crispy and delicious. The chicken is brined so if may be a bit salty to those who are not use to that just giving a heads up but we enjoyed it. My kids don't even like pickles but loved the homemade pickles and the pickled onions. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. There is outdoor setting which I imagine would be perfect in the spring. Easily one of my new favorite spots!!

The food was really good..me and my friend ate everything on our plates. We ordered the blacken grouper. This will be a place I come to visit again. Beware the parking isn’t that great but this place is worth checking out. Also the red sangria is outstanding!!

My wife saw a story posted on IG about this place and wanted to try it out. The menu looked very appealing, and from what we saw from other reviews we decided we would do our 36th anniversary here, my intuition was to check it out first to see if the atmosphere was appealing enough to celebrate such a milestone. I'm glad we did because although we didn't think we would enjoy a special moment like that here, we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We had the fried green tomatoes starter as our appetizer, It was delicious over a bed of mixed greens and pickled red onions. My wife ordered the fried shrimp plate, which she enjoyed. She never cleans her plate and was full when we left. I had the seafood gumbo, which was very rich and flavorful, I also had a side of red beans and rice that I took home. The crowning jewel was the rum cake! So good, we ordered a 3rd slice to go, lol. This place is a very short drive and neatly tucked away on Old Chapel Hill rd. The menu is compact with a good selection of authentic dishes, and we look forward to returning.

Definitely make reservations here the place is small. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and fried chicken plate. Both were very tasty and filling. Atmosphere was a little loud and service could have been more attentive. Overall good dinner spot

Yum! We are the succotash (amazing), gumbo (left a bit to be desired), jambalaya (also amazing), and a special appetizer of potatoes and some of the best brisket I’ve ever had! We will definitely be back, can’t wait to try their drinks!!
