At the Durham location of the small chain that helped popularize axe throwing as a social and team-building activity as well as a competitive sport, book a throwing session for a group or stop by during daily walk-in hours. Enjoy a beer, wine or cider at the bar (no hard liquor on account of, you know, the axes being thrown). Kids 12 and up who are accompanied by an adult are welcome to join except on Fridays and Saturdays after 5 p.m. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Recently visited this location for a team building activity. Our instructor was knowledgeable, engaging, and made sure everyone in our group felt comfortable. They gave us tips on technique, safety, and helped us organize a tournament. Highly recommended for any organization or even group of friends looking for a unique and competitive experience!

Visited for the first time as a team building activity with my coworkers. It was a Great experience. Bradley was very patient to ensure that first timers like myself received tips and techniques to make the activity very enjoyable. I highly recommend Bradley and the Urban Axe team to anyone interested in releasing some stress and having a good time. I look forward to visiting again with my friends and family!!

Axle was an absolutely phenomenal coach. He gave great tips, had an amazing sense of humor, and when there was some extra time at the end of our private throw, even let us try a few full size axe throws! We’ve been coming for years, but it’s been quite a while since our last visit. This was a fantastic evening with out of town visitors that we’ll be talking about forever!

So much fun! Had never done axe throwing; they teach you everything you need to know and make it very enjoyable. Our coach was Lisa and she was absolutely amazing and really made it more fun! Will definitely be coming back!

We came here for a work function. It was really great. This was the first time I had ever been axe throwing and they made the entire experience amazing. They had a group of team members that stayed with us the entire night, they trained us on how to throw the axes and set up a competition for our entire group. We had such a great time! I would highly recommend this place for any group, big or small. This is definitely something everyone should try at least once. It really was a lot of fun.

Loved Z teaching our class. She made me feel comfortable. Explained everything thoroughly. Encouraged my confidence in this 1st axe throwing time class. If you are 2 people are less you join in with others. We had a total of 6 in the class. We all laughed together and Encouraged each other. It was like we knew each other all along. I saw others eating and drinking, but I did not.

What a fun night. Cole was an OUTSTANDING coach. We had 9 throwers of varying skill/experience level. It was great, and the tournament was a nail biter through the very last throw!!!!!

We came for a walk in session and had a good time. One slight disappointment we had is that we just wanted to throw amongst ourselves in a smaller group and didn't realize the coach would be dictating what we were to do for the entire hour, so it wasn't as relaxing as we'd hoped. The venue was mostly empty and we asked the coach if our smaller group could move to one of the empty lanes next to us, but he refused. Then moved all of us there anyway 10 minutes later when the wood panel on the lane we were using broke which was a little annoying.
Some more flexibility for how the throwers want to spend their hour, ideally asking them beforehand if they want to full coaching experience or just casual throwing amongst themselves like most other axe throwing places let you do would be an improvement.

Went Axe Throwing for the first time and could not ask for a better coach. Cole was amazing! Super patient, extremely knowledgeable, and brought amazing energy to ensure the entire group was having a great time. Because this experience I’m considering joining a league.
