After reading so many rave review we decided to visit when we visited N.C.from over twelve hours away. The cashier a short woman with a ponytail was friendly, efficient and courteous. The food came quickly we didn’t wait long. A male (tattoo and hat)brought the food he was nice and approachable. One issue was 3.25 for a 20 oz bottle soda was excessive and the flies were annoying and gross in the dinning room we couldn’t enjoy our meal so we packed up and enjoyed ourselves on our 12 hour ride home.

Overall the food is good when I do go. I stopped going to this place because they never seem to have the food that I would like to order when I go there. They’re always “out” of something. Of course I do not have a restaurant business but I never understood how a restaurant whose menu never changes does not have the food that’s on their menu. Waste of my time & gas trying to support. If you are like me and are looking for consistency when supporting, SoulForking Good is right down the street. Wonderful business. Swift service as well.

Ordered oxtail, ribs and chicken. All taste amazing! Real food should I say. Potato.salad, mac n cheese, and the corn bread while just "sides" taste so good and full of flavor. Restroom is also very clean. the cashier and the person who brought out and packed my food are both very nice and accomodating with all my questions.

My husband and I really enjoyed the food. The gal who took our order was awesome. I was curious about the Oxtails over rice and she gave me a sample to taste…it was very good. My favorite is the baked Chicken drumsticks which as cooked perfectly and tasted good. I really enjoyed the sides which were the Cabbage, Collard Green, Mac & Cheese and Cornbread. If you are too tired to cook, do Takeout! Very friendly staff 👏

I'm giving 3 stars because the establishment was very clean. The food, well, let's talk. I got mac and cheese, cabbage/collards mix, and oxtails. The mac and cheese is salty (FYI, I love salt, so if I say it's salty OH BAEBAE it's salty). The cabbage/collards mix are just hot, no seasoning and I had a thin bone in mine. I think it was from the turkey that it was seasoned with, again which it lacked seasoning. I got 3 oxtails which you can see from the pic provided and 2 small bones. I spent $23 and change for this and ended up going to Burger King for a chicken Jr on my way home because the plate didn't do it. The only thing that will be eaten is the oxtails and my 14 year old son will eat that only if he can add a bunch of hot sauce, according to him. To badmoodpixie, that gave the "wonderful" review that convinced me to come to V's, glad you had that experience but mine was far from yours!!! THANKS BUT NO THANKS!

Do yourself a favor and get the oxtail. I was surprised to see it off the bone but it doesn’t matter to me (I was gonna add some to the mac anyways). 10/10. Collards were solid, but I feel like everyone has their own preferences when it comes to greens. Mac n cheese and cornbread ? Sensational. Great service. You can tell they love what they do. First time coming here. Won’t be my last.

This place is an unexpected delight! I loved how diverse the atmosphere and people are, and the service was absolutely incredible. The cashier and waitress was super kind and talkative and the chicken sandwich was great and had amazing texture. The macaroni and cheese was excellent. I also absolutely loved the apple pie. 10/10.

My cousin took me to his favorite spot and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was welcoming the staff treated us like family. I will be returning so I can try more menu items.... I had the Hamburger Scramble (don't call it cube steak lol) and it was delicious. Thanks again for your service.

Absolutely delicious food! I was hesitant to order the oxtails because I didn't know how much I'd get for $22 but when my food arrived there were half a dozen oxtails - three large and three smaller (but not the tiny end pieces) and hefty portions of the cabbage and mac and cheese sides; I also ordered an additional side of collard greens. Everything was fantastic. I usually consider rice mostly a filler food but in the oxtail dish it had soaked up the flavorful sauce and I was scarfing it down. The cornbread is good but my least favorite of the foods I got because of just how great everything else is. The oxtails are tender and covered in a mouth watering sauce. The collards have chunks of pork and are well seasoned (I did add a splash of apple cider vinegar to mine). The cabbage is slightly sweet and spicy. The mac and cheese is as good as you'd expect from a soul food restaurant. I have only good things to say about this place and will most certainly order from V's again. The food I got will likely be three entire meals for me, so well worth the price!

I've been living outside of the USA for almost 2 years and have been wanting some down-home soul food. V's did not disappoint. The customer service was superb, they immediately made you feel at home. The restaurant is extremely clean, the food is fresh, hot and delicious. Fried pork chops, fried fish and wings, and the awesomely savory oxtails, collards, and golden buttery corn bread. Made me feel like I was back in my grandma's kitchen. Thanks, Kayla, for making us feel so at home.
