MAAME, Inc. 2nd Annual Black Maternal Health Walk, Run, and Stroll

The maternal health crisis in the U.S. is a growing public health emergency—and Black mothers and babies are at the highest risk. In North Carolina, Black women are nearly three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women and Black infants are more than twice as likely to die before their first birthday. These deaths are overwhelmingly preventable.

MAAME, Inc. is committed to changing the statistics, closing the gap, and ensuring that every mother and baby receive the care they deserve. Their 2nd Annual Walk, Run, & Stroll falls on the last day of Community Doula Week, marking the start of Black Maternal Health Month. This event is more than a walk—it’s a movement to raise awareness, advocate for change, and generate critical funds to continue their life-saving work.

Fundraising Goal: $15,000 to provide essential maternal health services, including doula care, lactation support, and postpartum mental health resources. Your contribution directly helps families receive the care they need during pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
