Solos and Duos
Two dancers and a musician explore the blurry line between choreography & improv!
Kendall Ramirez presents their new solo work: “time surely, a mother”, as well as some improvisation. A dance-based performer, improviser, and maker, Kendall is a featured artist in Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch” for 2025. Kendall is a total nerd for experimentation, collaboration, and seeking collective effervescence in performance and community spaces. They have performed most recently in works for Lucy Tozzi, Annalee Traylor, Danielle Swatzie, and staibdance. Kendall was most recently a guest artist choreographing at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, for their spring 2025 semester. Kendall’s research surrounds ideas of embodied memory, grief, absurdity, and perceived limits of self.
Irina Kruchinina + Daniel Levin present phase one of their collaboration called “aircolor”. Phase one is grounded in an improvised conversation between mover and musician. Later phases will involve audience participation through the use of interactive technology that’s currently under development.
Irina Kruchinina was born in Moscow, Russia. She is an interdisciplinary performance artist and scholar exploring poetry as intermedia between various modes of human expressions.
Cellist Daniel Levin is “one of the instrument’s most brilliant contemporary practitioners” (The Wire). He has performed extensively throughout the USA and Europe, and has recorded more than 20 albums as a leader or co-leader, which can be found on Clean Feed, HatOLOGY, Not Two, Trost, Riti, Mahakala, eyes & ears, and various other record labels.
