The Formation Block Party

Formation Block Party: Empowering Communities Through Engagement and Voter Education

Black SEL is thrilled to announce the rescheduled Formation Block Party, set to ignite the community on Oct.11th, following the cancellation of the initial event due to Hurricane Helene. This culturally vibrant event aims to empower communities to engage in the voting process while promoting social-emotional health through a dynamic mix of entertainment and education.

The Formation Block Party serves as a crucial platform for voter education and registration, ensuring that the voice of the community is heard. We honor the resilience of those affected by Hurricane Helene and are committed to giving back; attendees will have opportunities to contribute to local hurricane relief efforts.

Kristen Hopkins-Vincent, founder of Black SEL, is a shining beacon of community service who recently received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for her impactful work, recognized with a medal and certificate signed by President Biden.

Enjoy an exciting day filled with live music, free haircuts, body wellness massages, delicious food trucks, and unique shopping from black-owned vendors. This event promises fun for all ages and serves as a reminder of the power within our community.
