Wager: A Reading with Adele Elise Williams

Adele Elise Williams will read from Wager, her first book of poetry. Wager was published this spring and selected by Patricia Smith for the 2024 Miller Williams Poetry Series. Critics describe Adele's work as "all sass and smarts" (Dana Levin, Now Do You Know Where You Are) and "clarifying and lacerating" (Kate Durbin, Hoarders). And Adele describes herself as a wild and working-class woman who's wooed by low-brow and no-class aesthetics. This reading will also feature readings from poets Destiny Hemphill and Dasia Moore.
