Lovely stay. Good hot coffee always available outside the elevator. Breakfast was good, complete with make your own waffles 👍 I don't know what other people are complaining about. Gym, laundry room. All good. Rooms were well insulated. Even with the lobby full of lively people hanging out by the bar, we didn't hear anything once we got to the second floor (right above that space). Didn't hear anyone else's tv, beds were comfortable, plenty of room to stretch and not get in each other's way. We enjoyed being able to walk to the convenience store, MODE consignment shop, Indio gift shop at BrightLeaf Square, Jeni's for ice cream, Andia's for ice cream. Friendly staff, especially Ms. Janine. She was the prime example of service with a smile. Hire more folks like her.

We spent the weekend at the Durham McPherson Residence Inn for our nephews wedding. The room was amazing and clean, and the staff was very friendly. The manager Janine was very friendly and helpful. It was one weekend that we will remember ... lol ... and the hotel staff will remember. We had forgotten to get our suit and dress, that were hanging in the closet. We called the hotel and talked to Janine, and she was very happy to help. They sent our suit and dress to our house via FedEx. It arrived within two days of speaking with Janine. With friendly and helpful staff like that, we look forward to our next stay at the Residence Inn. Thank you Janine, and your staff for everything.

Pros - Good location. Large, clean, new rooms. Nice gym.
Cons - No housekeeping during a 3-day stay. $15 daily parking expensive for the town and neighborhood. Can by noisy on the weekend, esp. at night.

I’ve stayed at many hotels in Durham, NC. And this one is hands down my favorite!! Location is super convenient. Parking garage is a nice feature as well. Highly recommend!!

I am so grateful to the staff at this Marriot. They have been wonderfully accomodating and make me feel at home. Jennifer has been very kind and quick to assist the entire time, even given my relatively challenging situation. Janine and Salwa were very nice and helpful, too. Thanks to the wonderful staff!! 10/10, would recommend, gold star, big ups, and all that!!

Solid 3-star experience for me here. As others have said, the location is great and the rooms are clean, great quality, and spacious for the price point! Beware, that one downside of the location is proximity to the railroad tracks (train horn at 10:30pm) and Main Street (some car & pedestrian noise). The breakfast offering was extremely underwhelming and included no healthy options. I ended up taking an apple & banana and eating breakfast elsewhere. Also unfortunately, after confirming a late checkout with the front desk, I still got interrupted by housekeeping (twice) while staying an extra hour to take some calls and wrap up some work. This was just a little disruptive and demonstrated a lack of communication between the front desk and staff. Overall, it worked for my needs and I’ll probably stay again next time I’m in town.

This hotel has been recently renovated. It's in the middle of downtown Durham. Very close to Duke University. Lots of neat restaurants and shopping in the downtown area. Their shuttle provides a great trip to anything within about a 3 mi radius of the hotel. I also have a free breakfast in the mornings which is typical for the free breakfasts at hotels. No restaurant on site. The bar is a little limited.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It's within walking distance to Duke University and the Brightleaf entertainment district, which is packed with restaurants, bars, coffee shops, an ice cream parlor, retail shops, and live outdoor music. I dined at several local establishments and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the exceptional service.
The hotel itself is a solid red brick building with a well-built structure and a spacious lobby. It offers covered parking for $15 per day. The rooms are clean and come with standard amenities. There is also a workout room and outdoor seating available. On my floor, there was a sitting area called the "history room," furnished with comfortable high-back chairs. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area

Great location, great rooms & service, plus good breakfast.. I booked this hotel for the suite. The handicapped accessible room was great for my handicapped mother. There was plenty of room for me her and my niece & nephew.. they loved being able to play in the grassy are and the one entrance of the hotel with the cool carpet design… having a kitchen made things so much easier for us.

Had a very quick overnight stay at this property. A great location and a convenient parking lot for $15 a night. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the property is under renovation and no warning was given; the renovations are nice and there are signs posted saying “we only work from 8-4” or something like that… I wish they would have told that to the guy picking up their dumpster at 5am outside my window and leaving his reverse “beeper” on for 20 minutes.

I had a great experience for a one night stay. I believe I was in an updated studio room (4th floor) and it was beautiful. Space was clean, kitchen well stocked with utensils, plates, even a toaster. The staff was responsive and accommodating during my stay. The included breakfast was well stocked and fresh. I didn’t have a car and the area is easily accessible to walk to Duke, nearby Whole Foods and historic Bulls field.

Easy parking, nice people, soft beds, huge bathrooms, and the best part......check out is 12! We stayed one night and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
