Performing Arts
Shout. Leap. Sing. Dance.
Movement and sound. That’s us. We’re loud enough to be heard, and bold enough to command attention. The performing arts are a cornerstone of how Durham came to be. We’re home to DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center, a space that’s garnered international acclaim for over a decade of hosting hundreds of shows, including The Book of Mormon, The Lion King, and Hamilton. Our Historic Carolina Theatre hosts the Full Frame Film Festival and the 85-year-old American Dance Festival. Even our storied Durham Bulls Athletic Park converts to host the likes of Erykah Badu, Maxwell, and Anthony Hamilton for our renowned Art of Cool Festival.
Our universities embark in intentional partnership with our community year after year, with Duke and NC Central University offering state-of-the-art performing arts spaces for the young, old, short and all to tell their truths. Talent lives and breathes here. Talent comes to perform here. Arts enthusiasts flourish here.
The physical embodiment of Durham lives on stage. Your ticket for admission gets you far more than just a show — we promise.
